The main problem being usually just the one referee(teacher) and some parents as linesman means that most of what goes on just gets missed. From stamping to head butting, pulling hair, gouging and much more happens inside the mauls, rucks and scrums. Certainly not a game for the faint of heart. I went to a school in Australia where rugby was glorified more than religion. And a guy I graduated with now plays on the Australian rugby team as well. Me and my partner watched a game in a bar in Cork (Ireland) once, and let me tell you, watching a national match with a bunch of butches is an experience not to be missed.
